There have been times when I bought a shirt or T-shirt because it looked good on the mannequin, little realizing that when you have the figure of a mannequin, any piece of clothing — cheap or expensive, loose or body-hugging — suits you. Can anyone do an 'Anatomy of the above Sentence' explaining grammatically each and every word of it and thus introducing the confusing terms like tense, subject, predicate, verb, adjective, adverb, preposition, gerund, present participle and so on to budding English Learners?

That would require a sitting and an understanding of detailed 'English Grammar'. However , just for your information , for making the above example into a better sentence, I advise that the word ' have ' be added between 'when' and ' I' :::: '' There have been times when I HAVE bought a shirt or -------''.... ...more
