Sudhakar John Doraiswamy
…is a graduate of the Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music (AILM). A Choral Conducting major. He studied under Ricardo Mazo, Anders Solomonsson, the late Dr. Andrea Veneracion, Richard Laraga and Joel Navarro, and composition under Dr. Francisco F. Feliciano and National Artist Dr. Ramon P. Santos.
His musical experience begins from his childhood where he used to participate in church singing activities and was member of the Young Talents, the church youth choir. He was also a member of the Baldwin Boy’s High school choir and later joined the school brass band as a trumpeter under the baton of Mr. J T Williams Joseph. Before leaving for the Philippines he was a freelance recording artist (guitarist) and was a member of a local orchestra, which performed for various professional playback singers.
He served as Music Director at the Pasay First United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ in the Philippines- Cubao, Liturgical Music Director of the Episcopal Diocese of North Central Philippines and Music Director of the Holy Innocents Episcopal Church and Resident Artist for Music at the University of Baguio.
In 1991 he performed with the Asian Choral that toured Sweden. For his Graduation recital composed and conducted Greater Faith an oratorio based on the story of Job performed by the Asian Choral and the principal string players form the Philippines Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1998 he conducted a four hundred-voice choir during the Easter Sunrise Service in celebration of the Philippine Protestant Centennial organized by the National Council of Churches in the Philippines. He has conducted several Christmas cantatas with the Holy Innocents Episcopal Church Choir. In the years 2002 and 2003 he conducted the Baguio Choral (BaCh) a 120 voice choir. Presently he is music teacher at the Baldwin Boys High School, Baldwin Girls High School, Choir Director of the St. Josephs Commerce College, Vocal Trainer for the Trinity College of London, Exams, at the Good Shepherd Convent Music School.
In theatre, he was Composer and Music Director for the Musical Padi Igorot. Music Director for West Side Story and Masdan Mo Yahweh a Liturgical Music Drama. Arranged the orchestral score for four synthesizers and Music Director for the Wonderful Wizard Of Oz performed by the students of the Bishop Cottons Girls School.
