How do I perform the addition of 2 numbers using returning pointers?

let me know if i understand ur question correctly , u want to return a pointer from a function which contains the summation of two integers which you are going to pass as an argument to that function... Am i right?

What is the output of the below: int x, y; printf("%d", scanf("%d %d", &x, &Y));

O/p is 2. because scanf returns number of digits received from user as an input.
