If you are familiar with Sanskrit based languages, then Kannada can be easy to understand. You can familiarize yourself to the literature by speaking with native speakers and being in the presence of the language always like watching movies, talk shows etc.
Indian Language learning is not very difficult because the base language of most of the languages in India is Sanskrit. There is a collection on words or relatable words that are common to most of the communications, and hence if you can compare between your mother tongue and the language that you want to learn, it's easy to progress from then on. You will be able to relate to and practice the language quickly.
