"It's almost 10 years learning Veena from Leela Mami. I would say, I'll never find such a dedicated teacher in my lifetime. Even at the age of 70's she goes with the impedance of the student and ensures that one should understand every nuance in music. Her dedication towards music and the aesthetic approach to any raga or krithi makes one really stand still. I should say i am the luckiest student that god has blessed me with such a wonderful teacher. "

"When I started my learning of veena under the great tutelage of Leela ma'am ,I was very happy that my long search of Guru has been fulfilled atlast. She has taught me in such a nice way that we are always happy to attend the class. She gives so much of importance for practice, as "Practice makes a man perfect".That would be her first question in all classes. A perfectionist by nature, she expects the same from her students also. Very sincere in her teaching and gives importance to all the aspects of music like ragam,thalam,sahithyam etc which is very important when you learn an instrument like veena. When she teaches language is not a barrier at all. The commitment with which she conducts her classes at this age cannot be explained in words. My namaskarams to my Guru. "

"I have been learning Veena for the past 15 months from her. When I want to learn veena I was little reluctant as I don't have any previous Carnatic music knowledge but, Ms.Leela made me fell in love with the instrument with ease. She is a skilled teacher to make you learn and all she asks you to do is to practice, practice and practice. She has the devotion to teach if you have a passion to learn. The way she never compromises her one on one teaching and making the student understands every note on how to play amazes me. I am really lucky to have her as my teacher to fulfill my passion. "

"I am learning veena from Mam for the past 7 years. She is a real guru scolding you when you don't practice and affectionate with you other times. She has so much passion for the instrument which is evident in all interactions with her. She believes in playing the instrument with melody in raaga, involvement and also wants to give importance to the sahitya when one plays it. Veena is the only instrument akin to vocal music. In vocal music we put taala while singing and veena is the only instrument where we have to put taala while playing it. My earlier 2 gurus have not insisted on putting taala while playing the instrument but mam wants even that to be perfected. I Love my guru "
