Initially the music school started as Sri Sharada Sangeetha Vidyalaya in the year 1962 by Pandit Surendrasa Nakod with a purpose to provide quality music in Hindustani Vocal, Harmonium, Tabla and Sitar. To meet the growing demands and to provide more courses, Sri Gopinath Nakod Son of Pandit Surendrasa Nakod undertook an expansion program and the institute was renamed as Sri Sharada Music School. Now the school, in addition to the Hindustani Vocal, Sitar and Tabla also started providing courses in Light music, Banjo, Congo, Guitar. Several specialised courses like Singers training and short courses on composing music and so on were added. In order to provide a good stage for all the students, the school is conducting an annual event where the students perform on stage. The school is now having a plan to conduct good concerts by involving eminent artists so that students can watch, learn and set higher goals for themselves.
