This is the single most important skill that you are tested for not only in Competitive Exams (GRE, GMAT, CAT) , but also in your higher education SOP's, Essays, Group discussions. Job Interviews and even higher Education interviews.

Critical Thinking Framework

In this workshop you will learn how to think critically about any situation or issue you need to evaluate. You will be introduced to the a holistic framework of Critical Thinking that can be applied to any situation. The framework highlights the different steps involved in Critical Thinking. We use Paul Elder's Critical Thinking framework to illustrate the different dimensions of Critical Thinking.

Learn how people reason
People use several different types of reasoning to arrive at a decision or conclusion in any situation. The workshop will introduce you to key patterns of reasoning. The types of reasoning covered include: Deductive Reasoning, Formal Inductive Reasoning,. Informal Inductive Reasoning, Inductive Analogies, Casual Explanations and Inferences. We also examine several fallacies : Hasty generalization, Slippery slope reasoning, Genetic fallacy, False Dilemma and a few more.

Learn how to evaluate reasoning
We are often presented with situations where we need to reason to a conclusion, or we need to evaluate the reasoning presented by others in arriving at a decision or conclusion. We learn how to build sound arguments and evaluate arguments presented by others.

Written Analysis
In Academics and Business, we are expected to present a written analysis of varying subjects. Students are expected to write Project Reports, Thesis and essays on various topics in College. For higher education entrance exams such as GRE, GMAT and CAT they are specifically tested on their Critical Thinking by their Argumentative Essays or Written analysis of a case.

The Workshop introduces a generic structure for Written analysis that can be adapted to any task requiring a Written Analysis.

Learn how to apply Critical Thinking

Planning a career
Critical Thinking is essential in developing a career plan - from making an initial choice of a career to a plan on how they will actually get into the career of their choice. There are several parameters for selecting a career, and lots of planning required to actually work themselves into the career of their choice.
