The folks at BlueTimbre are always open for extra practice sessions and are cheerful and warm. The facility is clean and well-maintained. My son so loves this place that it often takes me an extra 5-15 minutes to get him to leave the studio. In fact, now he is signing up for vocal classes at BlueTimbre. "

"What are the keyboard books according to each grade exam?" in   Music/Instrumental Music/Keyboard

Dear Manoj, There are several curriculum that you can follow for keyboard Learning. The most well known include: Trinity College of Music, Rockschool, ABRSM etc: All of them begin with introduction to the keyboard called the "Initial" or "Debut" Level Grade. Then it ranges from Grade One all the way upto Grade Eight. After this, you can pursue the diploma level in Keyboard. The syllabus is of two types, there is "Classicial" - Mozart, Beethoven etc: OR there is the Comtemporary syllabus. If you are interested in Classical, we would recommend either Trinity or ABRSM. However, if you are interested in Contemporary (Rock, Pop, Jazz, Funk, Electro) music, we would recommend Rockschool. All books are available on Amazon and you can get safe and guaranteed delivery. www.amazon.in However, if you are planning to learn keyboard to that extent, we would highly recommend a skilled instructor who can not only teach you but also guide you about what you must learn and the instrument you must own.

"Hi, I am interested in learning singing. I have given performance at school level. After that I am not in touch with music. Also, I have difficulty in singing high notes. Kindly suggest which type of music should I carry on for practicing?" in   Performing Arts/Singing, Music/Vocal Music/Indian Vocal Music/Indian Classical Music/Hindustani Music, Music/Instrumental Music/Indian Instrumental Music

Hi Ankita, firstly you need to decide what type of music/songs you are interested in singing - classical, Hindustani or western. Based on the type, there are several different vocal exercises you can do to help you vocal cords develop and become more flexible. This can help you reach the high notes that you might want. However, don't be disheartened if you cannot reach very high notes, look at Usha Uthup - the famous singer. She only sings in a low pitch. Ultimately, it is all about what you want to sing. BlueTimbre is a Music Education, Performance and Production center. For more information on our Western Vocal classes and training, please see www.bluetimbre.com

"I want to acquire a career in DJ? Should I need prior knowledge of music? What instrument shall I start with? Keyboard?" in   Music/Instrumental Music/Western Instrumental Music, Music/Instrumental Music/Keyboard

Dear Ankuraj, If you want to become a DJ, we suggest you begin by learning the fundamentals of Music. You can learn this via piano/Keyboard. Unless you understand how music is made, how will you be able to create music? Once your fundamentals are in place, you can begin by learning about electronic music and mixing music. You could also intern with various DJs in the city and find out about how you can grow your career as a DJ.

"Should I do some exercise for singing high notes?" in   Performing Arts/Singing

In order to sing higher or lower notes, you need to train your vocal chords to develop accordingly. This required regular (daily) practice of vocal exercises. Some of the exercises you can use are - major scales (low to high and back), minor scales (low to high and back), lip rolls, interval exercises and arpeggio exercises. There are several more types of exercises however we would recommend doing them under the guidance of a trained instructor. Several of the exercises we have mentioned are available via demo videos on YouTube.
