Don't shy away from making mistakes. Also, when you do note a mistake, by yourself or pointed by someone, try to delve in and find a solution. Read English newspaper daily. You can start with TOI, then to The Hindu, then The Guardian. Buy the book High School English Grammar and composition by Wren and Martin. Practice the verb usage, preposition, adverbs etc. The book is incredible.
