I was initiated into dance at the early age of nine under the tutelage of Shri. Haridas. Under his guidance she passed junior and senior examinations conducted by Government of Karnataka.
For further training in this field of dance, she joined Smt. Rukmini Devi’s world renowned institution, “Kalakshetra” college of fine arts, Chennai. There she was also trained in Carnatic vocal and Natvangam.
She also did her Masters in Bharthanatyam from Bangalore University with a distinction.
Ramya has number of performance to her credit both in India and abroad. Like Sangeeth Natak Academy, International Dance Alliance (IDA), Spirit of unity concerts, Natyarangam, Natranjali festival, Navarathri festival held in Bangkok are few performances to mention. She had recently been to USA to participate in the AKKA conference held in Chicago and St. Louis dance festival.
She is the recipient of scholarship awarded by department of culture, Government of India.
Recently she was deputed for cultural exchange programme by Indian Council for Cultural Relations to ICCR Bali, Indonesia.

Set up solely for the awareness and promotion of fine arts in the society especially amongst the youth, to understand and appreciate the priceless artistic tradition of our country and of imparting to the young the true spirit of art, devoid of vulgarity and commercialism. We aim to reach all class of people and provide them a platform to enrich their talents. Presently trust has its branches at Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Yashwanthpur and Vidyaranyapura. Here they impart training in all forms of Indian art.
