About the Course

This section really looks at a framework that a guitar teacher can use to introduce key concepts such as developing a "vocabulary" of basic guitar chord shapes and the ability to change between those chords effectively as well as to introduce solo lines and more "advanced" technical and theoretical areas such as Power and Bar Chords.

Topics Covered

1.Learning a set of suitable basic chords
2.Change between those chords in time with music
3.Learn to form the G Em C and D chord shapes
4.Develop the ability to move between them.

Who should attend

Any one who has the word "Intrest " on learning Guitar.

Pre-requisites

Theory is very important to a musician and let them know that these sort of questions will be discussed during future lessons but that at the moment there is very little point in knowing which notes and chords you would like to play if you can’t physically play them!
For that reason it's a good idea to let them know that the first lessons tend to be taken up with developing a physical capability on the instrument.

Key Takeaways

The first couple of months of a novice guitarist’s career could (and probably should?) be largely taken up with becoming firstly aware of, and then familiar with the chords that make up the caged system. Some of the CAGED chords work particularly well in the key of G and by becoming familiar with just four of them (G Em C and D) a student can develop an extensive and varied repertoire of stuff to practice and play.
